We are rowing Corduroy and A Pocket for Corduroy, #3 just finished Cinderellas from around the world, and now needs to assemble. Oldest is supposed to be writing his report for the history fair on Genghis Khan, but is procrastinating. We need to get started on state history, but I am rather dreading doing it.

We demonstrated this by making elephant toothpaste (http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/con ... othpaste12).

I knew I should not have clicked the links- especially the elephant toothpaste one... I spent over an hour watching videos and looking at neat experiments on that website. The one where Steve was on the Ellen show really cracked me up!!
I really needed to watch those though, Science was never much "fun" for me, and I have almost dreaded teaching it, but seeing cool stuff like that, and seeing your excitement about science helps :). I do wish it wouldn't be so far of a drive for my dd (and me) to take some of your classes!

(Did you watch the Ellen clip? That smoke thing was waaay cool -the air blaster made out of a trashcan and shower curtain).

Thanks for sharing and please continue to do so- I just might like this science stuff after all  . :cheer:

I totally understand your science dread, Rachel. Science was the least favorite of my subjects in high school. But then God gave me a science-loving child. So, I started looking around to see what resources I could give him and, before I knew it, I was hooked. Science is a blast! Feel free to try the experiments I post here. Most of them require supplies that you probably already have in your home right now. Just add some books and lapbooks/notebook pages for a full unit study!

We started Native Americans also. Daughter is reading AG Kaya books to go along.

Still would love any indian book ideas for a 13yr old ds. He has already read Sign of the Beaver another year.
Any book ideas?

Cindi, I found these book lists on Amazon.com:

- http://www.amazon.com/2006-NYPL-Books-N ... _1_rsrsrs0.
- http://www.amazon.com/Native-American-h ... pli_alt_54

I hope they help.
